Pay attention. We have a new rule. Whoever brings coffee and juice for Saturday breakfast must get them out on the table by 8:00 am. This makes sense and I think everybody will agree.

      Notes about this Trip
The weather was great! Sunny and close to 70 degrees.
Al & Shelly, Gill & Cecille, John & Pauline & Aunt Orthabelle, Bill & Sheri showed up for Saturday dinner.
The State dudes cut down 190 diseased trees in the main campground. Looks like a desert now. What a shame.
We counted well over 50 large ships on the river.

      Notes about this Trip
We welcomed visits from Bill and Barb, Tom and Pam and Jack, Mike and Jessica and Brenna, Jeff, Rich and Sherry and Jessica and Sara, Fred and Nancy, and who knows who else. Carol was forced to make a really large batch of blue margaritas
Yes, we had a large group for supper. Lots of wine.
The weather was pretty good: chilly on Friday, partly cloudy on Saturday and Sunday, nice and sunny on Monday. We got a few sprinkles, but stayed dry. Chillier than we would have all liked.
Most of us went to the local subdivision garage sale on Saturday.
We learned and played two new card games: Push Rummy and Oh Hell!

      Notes about this Trip
Okay, this is complicated. Shirley with Kelly and her two boys joined us. Then Rich and Sheri and their two daughters joined us. Then we had day visits from somebody.
Now for the weather. It was mostly just perfect with sunny skies and highs in the upper 70s. The real campers stayed thru the week and weathered a really nasty wind and rain storm on Wednesday which destroyed a neighbor camper's tent. Silly people.
Cell phone service was pretty good because we were so close to Tawas.

      Notes about this Trip
Once again, we had some pretty good weather overall. Mostly sunny skies, breezy off the lake with highs in the 80s with good sleeping temperatures at night. A nasty rain storm came thru very late Sunday and interrupted our Big Screen movie (Finding Nemo). It rained a lot Sunday night and lightly Monday morning and early afternoon then cleared. They really needed the rain.
Cell phone service is pretty good here due to the closeness to Gaylord.
The brake line on Alan's 14-year old van sprung a leak on the return trip from a Gaylord shopping spree. The brake lines were repaired on Monday by a local fixer.
The park is all right with it's nice beach and warm water. Too bad there is so little grass. The sites are 95% sandy dirt, but, on the bright side, very shady. There is a camp store with hand-dipped ice cream and not much else.

      Notes about this Trip
Church on Sunday was at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Mt. Pleasant.
The weather was very nice. Sunny and warm. Not too hot and not too cold.
We visited the local dollar stores and the flee market which was a little short of sellers.

      Notes about this Trip
The weather was almost too nice. Sunny each day with temps in the high 80's; we hit 90 on Monday and broke an all-time high record set back in 1931. Just a little rain on Monday night and Tuesday cooled off down to the low 70's... but still sunny. Wednesday's weather turned much more like fall, but only Matt and Gaylene were there to witness that.
The trees have some color but need another week for awesome color.
There were an awful lot of little tiny mosquitoes.
Verizon cellphone service is one bar but good enough.
