Park Description from the State website

Pontiac Recreation Area, with 3,745 acres of rolling woodland terrain, is open year round for a variety of activities. The area's habitat, a mixture of marshes, ponds, heavy forests, old farm fields, river bottom and lakes support a wide variety of animals and excellent hunting. Designated trails meandering throughout the recreation area are available for horseback riding, hiking and mountain biking.

How to get to the Campground

From Pontiac/Waterford, drive west on M-59 past the airport to Williams Lake Road. Do not turn here! Continue driving (Pontiac Lake is on your right) for another 0.7 miles to Pontiac Lake Road. Turn right onto Pontiac Lake Road and drive about 2.2 miles to Teggerdine Rd and turn right (north). Drive about 1.2 miles to the campground entrance road and turn right. The campground is about a mile down this road.

Commentary

This is a popular campground, probably because it is so close.
Most of the sites are a long walk to the restrooms. Be careful when making reservations. Sites 99 to 107 are ideal.
